Congratulations to the Roscrea Liturgy Group who launched a book entitled “Quiet Moments” on Saturday evening last. Members of the Liturgy Group are pictured here with FR Tom Corbett, who launched the book, and Mary Loughman who designed the beautiful front cover for the book.
Guest of honour was Mrs Mary Loughman, who attends the Dean Maxwell Care Centre Community Unit. Mary painted the sunflower which adorns the cover of the book. Mary was accompanied by her family, staff members of the Day Centre Unit and her good friend Mary Hayes. Also present was Mr Jim McMahon, Principal of St Anne’s National School, Sean Ross, Roscrea as well as staff members and friends.

In his address, Fr Tom Corbett said that the launch of “Quiet Moments” was a very proud moment for the Liturgy Group and the parish of Roscrea. Fr Corbett commented that “Quiet Moments” contains thoughts and reflections for each day of the week, for family, for Christmas and for times of sadness. These reflections he said provide words, phrases, images and prayers, which will help the meditative reader to see and feel differently about life and its events and moods. Fr Corbett said that the book would inspire and energise the searcher. Fr Corbett recommended the book as a good way to praise, think and reflect on life. In conclusion Fr Corbett said that a lovely painting of the sunflower by Mary Loughman aptly beautifies the cover of “Quiet Moments” with the sunflower signifying both light and colour.
