It's hoped that the facility, one of the biggest in the Midlands, will attract regular users from at least a 20-mile radius. Along with the pool, a state-of-art techno gym contains the full range of fitness gear, including 'pure strength' weight lifting machines that will appeal to dedicated heavy lifters. There's also a health suite with sauna and steam room and a viewing area. Cardiowave and cardiovario machines also specialise in working the heart, said Ms Boyer. The gym also has a 12-bike spin studio.

Twenty staff are employed at the centre, full and part time. Fully trained lifeguards are always stationed at the pool. Everyone is encouraged to visit the facility which is a tremendous amenity to have in the town.
